“Where is the Lamb?”

Genesis 22:7-14
The story of the Bible is how God has sought for and redeemed mankind.  The separation between God and sinful man is caused by the holiness and justice of which requires payment for sin.  It can be said that the Bible is the story of a lamb…The Lamb of God.

God has set the requirement for access to Him and His life-giving power to be the blood of a perfect sacrifice.

sacrifice - the offering up of something precious for a cause or a reason.
atonement” - satisfying someone for an offense committed.
I.    The Lamb in the Garden  Genesis 3:15
Sin brings shame to our lives requiring covering.  Genesis 3:21
Those who are covered by the blood sacrifice are set free from the consequences of sin.  Hebrews 9:22
Genesis 3:15 has been called the “Protevangelium.”  That is a Latin word that means “First Gospel.”
When man sinned in the Garden of Eden and fell into the awful clutches of sin, it did not catch God by surprise.
II.   The Lamb on the Mountain - Genesis 22:7-14
God "himself" provided the lamb.
The ram was a substitute offering. Jesus died in our place, as our substitute, when He paid the price for our sins.
III. The Lamb in the Passover - Exodus 12:13
Man isn’t a sinner just because of what he does, but because of who he is. He is born in sin and is condemned to die.
For the blood to be effective it must be applied.
IV.The Lamb in the Manger - Luke 2:16
The incarnation is God’s gift of the perfect lamb who would be sacrificed for the sins of men.
V.  The Lamb on the Cross - "…and He will make your paths straight." Isaiah 53:3-7
There is no salvation without sacrifice.
In God’s economy, only shed blood can forgive sin. As the great Lamb of God, Jesus had to go to the Cross in order to save the world.
VI.The Lamb in Heaven - Revelation 5:11-14

He is now the Risen Lamb!
