So What's Stressing You Out?

Submitted by David Miller

Stress is something, we all deal with, whether we are an adult or younger.  We face lots of stress every day too. It may be stress from situations at school, or from something that’s happening at home or at work. Maybe you’re in a stressful relationship. No matter what the source of your stress is, God provides us strength and encouragement to move out from under the stress.
The best thing to do about stress is realize one simple truth: You weren’t built to deal with stress on your own. You aren’t expected to deal with hard situations on your own. God wants to help you deal with the stressful situations that you face.  We see this in Jeremiah’s prayer.
Lord, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps. Jeremiah 10:23
This scripture describes it so perfectly. We aren’t built to do things on our own and in our own strength. Paul reminds us that when we are weak from all the stress of life, He is strong.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)
We need God’s help to live our day-to-day lives. We need to trust that God has our back in every situation and circumstance that we face. When we get stressed out, we should go to God and ask for his help. He’s just waiting for us to ask for His help.
No matter what it is that is stressing you out, you can take comfort in the fact that God wants to help you. All you need to do is ask Him and he will be happy to help you out.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  Psalms 46:1 (NIV)
