1 Kingdom – Disciple Now Weekend 2013 (DNOW2013)

All of you are part of the same body. There is only one Spirit of God, just as you were given one hope when you were chosen to be God's people. We have only one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. There is one God who is the Father of all people. Not only is God above all others, but he works by using all of us, and he lives in all of us. Ephesians 4:4-6
We are joining together with more than 10 other churches in Parker County for one awesome weekend of worship, fellowship, community missions projects, and recreation for our youth this Friday through Sunday, March 22nd-24th.  Be in prayer for this special time when our kids’ lives may be changed forever.
What is DNOW?
Disciple Now Weekend (DNOW) is a retreat for our youth right here in our own community.  Here in Parker County it will be a collection of churches working together with the same purpose in mind: “1 Kingdom”.  This year’s theme – “1 Kingdom”, is based on the idea for churches, students and families of Parker County to come together as a community and be the church that is needed to impact and change our culture with the good news of Jesus Christ.  We truly believe this is the only hope and can happen when people enter the Kingdom by acknowledging Jesus as their King; learn what it means to live in the Kingdom with their new identity, home, and purpose; and then be on Mission for the King.  This is the message of “1 Kingdom” at DNOW2013.
There will be challenging large group worship experiences on Friday and Saturday evenings here in our own Worship Center.  Our youth will enjoy honest , challenging conversations in small groups at individual church members homes and then serve and play hard within our community, enjoying the fellowship of the kingdom.  Gifted and called out guest leaders will facilitate the weekend and many other church members are involved by providing meals, transportation and prayer support.  That is where you come in.  Please pray for the youth of our community this weekend as God speaks to them and moves in their hearts during this event.  Also be in prayer for the leaders as God uses them in mighty ways this weekend to reach these kids.
The guest speaker for this special event hosted by North Side Baptist Church is Trey Smith.  Trey is originally from Southeast Texas and has a history in student ministry including traveling all over the country as a youth pastor, camp speaker and evangelist.  He is currently a high school forensic science teacher.  He has a passion for students not to just know the Gospel but to live it out as they grow and mature in their faith and affections for Jesus Christ.  Our Pastor will be out this Sunday filling the pulpit at another church so Trey Smith will be the guest speaker on Sunday morning, March 24th, here at North Side.  Be in prayer for Trey this weekend as he leads DNOW2013 and come Sunday morning to welcome him and hear his message.

Scripture to Claim:
…but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.  Ephesians 4:15-16
