Your way went through the sea and your path through the vast water, but your footprints were unseen. You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
PSALM 77:19–20, CSB
God Can Use You
God could have led the Israelites across the Red Sea and into the Promised Land without the assistance of any human, but He chose not to rescue them this way. While God’s people were saved through the miraculous parting of The Red Sea, He used Moses and Aaron to do it. This is the pattern we see throughout scripture. God’s plan of redemption for the world is accomplished through His people sharing the gospel. He does not have to use us, but He chooses to use us for His name’s sake. God leads His people through His people. Never underestimate the role you can and will play in the lives of those you are sharing the gospel with and discipling. If God is going to do a work in your One’s life, He will likely use you and other believers to do it.
We are all flawed. We have sin, family problems, fears, trials, and yet God still uses us. He uses ordinary people who are obedient to Him to accomplish His purpose. Even with all this going on in our lives, we can still meet needs, be instruments of peace, and show God’s love to others. We can still share the gospel.
Many times what keeps us from sharing the gospel is not feeling qualified. God used lots of people in the Bible that didn’t feel qualified. There are things we can do to make sure that we are ready anytime we might find ourselves in circumstances where we can share the gospel with someone who needs to hear it. We also need to have faith that God will give us the words we need to say in the moment we need to say them. If it is down to stepping out in faith and sharing the gospel, trusting God to give us the words, or not sharing it at all when someone needs to hear it, then share the gospel! Sharing the gospel is equivalent to saving a life. When you share the gospel is it at least one step closer, another seed planted, to help someone have the gift of salvation and eternal life.
As you go about your day, look for opportunities the Lord has given you to be His hands, feet and mouthpiece to those you encounter.
Who’s Your One Prayer Guide Day 27
When they heard this, they were pierced to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles: “Brothers, what should we do?” Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ACTS 2:37-38, CSB
Father, I long for ___________ to ask this question: What must I do to be saved? Right now he/she is content to live apart from Your love, but I know all of that can change in a moment. Awaken him/her to his/her need for the gospel. Give me the courage to call ___________ to repentance, and grant me the joy of seeing him/her baptized as a public testimony of his/her faith in Jesus Christ. I know You forgive sins and give Your Holy Spirit to all those who are saved. I pray he/she would connect to Your Church and be discipled to maturity following his/her conversion.
