Ephesians 2:1-5
The spirit of mankind is dead, and there is no way for it to be resuscitated through good works, religious activities, or keeping rules. The only way for a person to be raised to life is to be
born again.
I. A Person Without Christ Is Spiritually Dead
· Dead, not trapped
· Dead, not weak
· We were sinners from birth, children of wrath, unable to change our position, leaving us completely hopeless.
II. A Person With Christ Is Made Alive
· Grace means more than God making your salvation possible. Grace is God saving you.
Christ raises the dead to salvation.
· Salvation is a miracle, a divine action of raising the spiritually dead, and Christ does it by His Word.
· When our Lord speaks, those who are spiritually dead hear His voice, and those who hear His voice live.
All believers have the same testimony – you have been made alive by Christ Jesus.
· No one will ever be “a little bit saved.”
Faith at Home
· What does it mean to be spiritually dead? Made alive in Christ?
· Share your testimony with your children. If they are already saved, guide them in thinking about their own testimony.
