The Most Ridiculous Conversation in the Bible

The Most Ridiculous Conversation in the Bible

Jonah 4:1-4

Jonah 4 provides a Mirror that reflect some of our struggles and help us grow to love like Jesus

This change of plans greatly upset Jonah, and he became very angry. So he complained to the Lord about it: “Didn’t I say before I left home that you would do this, Lord? That is why I ran away to Tarshish! I knew that you are a merciful and compassionate God, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. You are eager to turn back from destroying people. Just kill me now, Lord! I’d rather be dead than alive if what I predicted will not happen.” The Lord replied, “Is it right for you to be angry about this?” Jonah 4:1-4

Why did Jonah react this way

1.    Didn’t see people with love

Judgement: forming of an opinion, based on circumstances.

2.    Forgot what God did for him

3.    Let emotions control him

We do the same thing

1.    We don’t see people with love.

2.    We forget what God has done for us.

3.    We get angry just like Jonah.

How do we show Love

1.    Learn what Love is. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Be Kind.

2.    Remember our PardonRomans 5:8

God loved us while we were sinners.

3.    Check our Motivation1 John 4:19

Move from “In order to” to “Because of.”

4.    Don’t act like the Holy Spirit, Act like Jesus: Matthew 7:3-4

We are called to be Little Christ’s not Little Holy Spirit’s.

So What?

Are going to be Jonah or PaulRomans 9:2-3
