7 Vital Prayer Points

Some material taken from Crosswalk.com - 7 Vital Prayer Points for the upcoming election
Look at the nations and watch-- and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.
Habakkuk. 1:5
How can Christians make a difference in the world today?  It seems an impossible thing to imagine but we can still make a difference in so many ways.  The most important thing we can do for our country today is to pray.  Elections are coming up next week so now is a great time to focus prayers on our country and its leaders, as well as the decisions made at the polls.  This week our church is having a pre-election prayer vigil where people have committed to praying for our county every day.  We have a designated place in the church for this special prayer time.  If you feel led to come and pray and you didn’t sign up, you may come anyway between the hours of 9-5.
Today Pray That Our Hope Would Remain In The Lord. Pray that we would recognize His great power, that we would trust Him and believe that He is Able, and nothing is impossible with Him. He alone is where our real hope is found, not in our leaders, not in the economy, not in the condition of our nation today, or even in the future of tomorrows.
Whatever the results of the polls are, we can rest assured that God has got it under control. He is not throwing His head back saying, “What am I going to do???” He is not worried about who will win. He's called us to pray, to be salt and light, and to have a voice. We can trust that the outcome is in His hands, remembering this truth on which our nation was founded - We are "One Nation under God."
Our hope comes from the Sovereign God, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.   He is above all and one day they will allbow at His feet – Kings, Queens, Presidents, Senators, all of them.  Tragedy and disaster can leave us hopeless, but when we put our faith in Him and believe His promises, He will bring us peace.  This earth, and our time here are temporary, and even all the fearful events that happen in our lifetime are just a blink in eternity.  They are big to us because we are living in the middle of them and we have short term vision.  We cannot see to the end of time like He can.  He is faithful.  His promises are true.  The Bible is full of evidence of His faithfulness to His people.  He wants good things for us and He is more powerful than all the forces of evil out there that we see every day.  He wants us to hope in Him and He delights when we trust in Him.  He can bring us peace and comfort in the darkest of times when we focus on Him, our solid rock.

Scripture to Claim:
Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.  Habakkuk 3:2
