The Apostle Paul states in Ephesians 2 that we are all dead at one point, spiritually blind; then through Christ we are made alive and given sight. But just like learning to walk, we have to learn to see. When you learn to see, and live like one who can see, it sets an example for others around you. This is what takes you from a casual Christian to a dangerous disciple.
I. Vision But Can't See - Eph 2:4-5
A. He had the gift of vision; but he didn't know how to see.
B. We aren't made better or fixed, we are made new.
C. Although we now have vision, we don't know how to see.
D. We have to learn to recognize which voice is the voice of our shepherd.
II. Learn to See - 2 Cor 5:17
A. Discipleship is learning what another person knows about following Jesus, and doing that.
B. When we incorporate discipleship, we accelerate the process of learning to see.
III. Teaching Others To See - Eph 4:12
A. We need believers to teach the other believers what living the new life looks like.
B. If you're alive, then God's not done trying to use you.
C. Discipleship, formal and informal, when coupled with worship is how those that have received sight learn to see.
