The Wagons are Coming

Submitted by Sam Nobles

But when they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said to them, and when he saw the wagons that Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of their father Jacob revived (Genesis 45:27 ESV)
People are cynical, grouchy, and pessimistic by nature. Jack Nicholson said, “In my last year of school, I was voted Class Optimist and Class Pessimist. Looking back, I realize I was only half right.” Fred Couples echoed, “I don’t answer the phone because I get the feeling there may be someone on the other end.”
So too, Jacob had reason to be pessimistic. His sons had told him that Joseph was dead, and now they’re telling him that he is alive and the governor of Egypt. Even though Jacob didn’t believe his son’s words, he couldn’t deny the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him and his possessions to the land of Egypt.
Like Jacob, many times we don’t believe the Word we heard. But the good news is that Jacob’s disbelief did not derail the wagon train Joseph had sent his way. So too, you might be going through difficult and trying times, but I have good news for you: The wagons are coming…What wagon?
The Lunch Wagon
Society may say, “There’s no free lunch” but the Bible says, “Yes, there is.” "Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price (Isaiah 55:1 ESVm nj). The Spirit of God has sent out the invitation to everyone everywhere to partake in the gospel feast. You can come dine and eat even if you don’t have any money. The invitation is given to you to freely delight yourself. You might feel like things aren’t going your way today, but that doesn’t derail the lunch wagon God has sent in your direction –enjoy.
The Station Wagon
Perhaps your kids have wandered away from God, but even if you’re pessimistic or full of doubt about them, keep your head up. God has promised that He will keep that which is committed unto Him (2 Timothy 1:12), and will finish the work He began in them (Philippians 1:6). The promises of God are true, and even if you don’t see how it will happen, the station wagon is headed in your direction to scoop up you and your family.
The Band Wagon
I’m sure Caleb and Lance hear this all the time, “Can I be in the band?” The Bible says we should all praise the Lord, and sing unto him a new song (Psalm 149:1).You may not make it on the praise team this Sunday, but it is going to happen—the band wagon is coming. Eventually we’re all going to be singing in heaven. I’ll be singing in harmony right along with the best of them in the presence of the Lord.
The Covered Wagon
The Lord has you covered…literally. The covered wagon has arrived. Our inadequacy, stupidity, and sin are all covered by the blood of the Lamb, and even if you find it hard to believe, the fact remains that God has good things heading your way.

Scripture to Claim:
You crown the year with your bounty; your wagon tracks overflow with abundance (Psa 65:11 ESV)
