Teach Me To Pray Outline

Teach Me To Pray
Ephesians 6:18

Too many Christians and churches have lost contact with the Spirit. Through prayer, the Holy Spirit is what connects us to a Holy God so that we can know Him and experience all He has for us.

God has given us His Spirit so that we can experience intimacy with Him and know all He has for us.

Prayer is A Means of Grace

·      Prayer is a means of God's grace designed to keep us from falling into disbelief, and to guide us safely to eternal life.

·      Prayer is spiritual breathing for the Christian life.

Your Life Prayer

·      To reverence God means to reverence His creation in you through surrender to His will. God has made us for a purpose and that is to glorify Him in all that we do e.

·      What are you praying to God for Him to make of your life?

·      Each one has to determine whether they are a product of God’s purpose, or of the circumstances in life.

·      We must come face to face with our tendency to try to pray on our own

·      When I empty myself of “self” and surrender to God, I make room for the Spirit to take control.

Learning to Pray in the Spirit.

What Praying in the Spirit Is Not

·      Praying in the Spirit is not the seeking of some kind of emotional experience.

·      Praying in the Spirit differs from praying in the flesh.  It is not praying with your head or your heart alone.

·      Praying in the Spirit is not using many words or using spiritual terms.

What Praying in the Spirit Is

·      To pray in the Spirit is to admit our inability to pray effectively without Him.

·      To pray in the Spirit is to seek and receive the presence of God within us.

·      To pray in the Spirit is to be moved and guided by the Spirit in prayer.
