Repent, and be baptized every one of you in
the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38
This week we have been taking a look about truthfulness and
our own sin. I know they have been
heavier reading but I hope they have helped you to be honest with yourself and
let go of sin you are holding onto.
GOD WILL NOT BLESS
AMERICA UNLESS AMERICA BLESSES GOD!
The truth about America is that America will not change
until Americans do. It is only as powerful, as moral, as purposeful, as loving,
and as God-fearing as its people are. We
become upset because we feel that our representatives in government do not
properly represent the people of the land. The truth is that those who
represent us DO represent us. As much as we hate to admit it, America is
getting what it is asking for from its leaders.
Those who are speaking up are being heard. The voice of righteousness has been muffled
by the shouting of a sin-sick world.
While we agree with the fundamental concept of separation of church and
state, the ridiculous demand that the church remain silent while America goes
to hell is foreign to all of our history. America needs to hear the voice of
God through her churches and her people. Have we done what Benjamin Franklin
feared..."AND NOW HAVE WE FORGOTTEN THIS POWERFUL FRIEND? OR DO WE IMAGINE
THAT WE NO LONGER NEED HIS ASSISTANCE?"
God longs to bless His people and set them free. But His people will not be free. The beginning of the loss of our freedom is
the abuse of our freedom. Galatians 5:1 says
It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore
keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. Government
cannot protect us from ourselves. Our
bondage is our sin.
Freedom is not the right to do as one pleases, but the
opportunity to do what is right. The founding fathers sought freedom -- not
from law but freedom in law. No nation
on earth has more laws, and yet, more lawlessness than this nation.
We desperately need to return to a government by principles,
rather than by politics. Any philosophy
which makes the will of the people its norm for morality and righteousness is a
false philosophy for it is based on the desires of men and not on the will of
God.
The plea of the church today is not that people should call
upon God to bless our nation. God has
abundantly blessed our nation. Our
message must be that we should return to God, and then, we will be
blessed.
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a
disgrace to any people… Proverbs 14:34. We pray for peace both in our nation and in
our world. But the blessing of peace is
not a product of politics; it is a fruit of righteousness. God's order is always righteousness and
peace, not peace and righteousness. The
Bible has been telling us that for centuries.
When will we ever learn?
I am proud to be called an American, but even more than that
I am proud to be called a CHRISTIAN AMERICAN.
This gives me the distinct privilege of being one of those who can be
used by God to make America all that He desires for her to be. GOD BLESS
AMERICA...THROUGH ME!
…and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven
