“Self-Control”
2 Peter 1:3-11 (CSB)

Self- Control - "The ability to pursue the important over the urgent, rather than always being impulsiveor uncontrolled."
Main Question: How does the Holy Spirit grow the fruit of self-control in our lives so that we might look and act more like Jesus?
1. We are to live self-controlled lives. (2 Peter 1:3-7)
a. Self-control is the by-product of living with integrity and knowledge, which begins in the mind.
b. Self-control leads to patience which produces godliness, brotherly affection, and agape love.
2. Self-control is a sign of spiritual maturity. (2 Peter 1:8)
3. Lack of self-control is a sign of spiritual immaturity.
