2014 Week of Prayer for North American Missions Day 2

2014 Week of Prayer for North American Missions
Firmly Planted...Rooted in the Gospel

"And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty."  Matthew 13:23

This week is the week of prayer for North American Missions.  Each day we are presenting a North American Missionary for you to pray for.

Ara and Anet Torosian
Armenian Fellowship Church of Burbank
320 E. Angeleno Ave.
Burbank, CA 91502
Ara's Birthday: January 21
Daughter: Emily
Home country: Iran

Ara is a church planter and pastor of Armenian Fellowship Church of Burbank reaching Armenian and Farsi-speaking people. When he was caught smuggling bibles from Turkey to his Southern Baptist underground church in Iran, Ara was removed from his home, blindfolded, beaten, and questioned about other Christian leaders.  But he vowed never to reveal any names – even if it meant giving his own life.  That day, Ara stood firmly planted in his faith and placed his entire trust in God.  Soon after this terrifying incidence he was able to come to the United States as a refugee.  His passion for church planting led him to start one of the first Armenian Southern Baptist Churches in Burbank, Ca.

Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for our church to grow spiritually.
2. Pray that the Armenian Fellowship Church of Burbank can start more churches to reach Armenian and Farsi-speaking people in California.
3. Pray for our new refugees to overcome the challenges they face through faith in Jesus. Help our church be a family to them.
4. Pray for protection of our family against spiritual warfare.

Scripture to Claim:
Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.
James 5:7
