The Sovereignty of God

Romans 9:15-23
God’s absolute power and authority over His creation is a reality that has both comforted and challenged humans for centuries. Today we look at this passage to discover what it means for the believer to live under the sovereignty of a loving and just God.

What does it mean for us?
  I. We live under Divine Provision
Physical Provision – Matthew 6:25-26
Mercy Provision – Romans 9:16
Romans 6:5-11
The wrath of God has been satisfied at the cross.

 II. We live under Divine Authority
Exodus 9:16
Pharaoh had absolute power (in Egypt)
Pharaoh was given divine attributes (in Egypt)
Against this backdrop the Lord declares His true absolute authority in the context of Pharaoh’s success.

III. We live under Divine Protection
Protection from colossal mistakes
Protection within colossal mistakes
Romans 8:35-39
