Abundant: A Study in Nehemiah
“Abundant Vision"
Nehemiah 1:1-2:8 (CSB)
Key Truth: God is an abundant God and calls His people to live out of His abundance for His glory and the good of others.
Main Question: How can we gain a God-sized vision for what He would have for us in the future?
1. Vision responds to a great need. (1:1-3)
2. Vision is bathed in prayer. (1:4-11)
Nehemiah’s prayer:
a. Praise of the one true God (vs. 5)
b. A plea for God to hear him (vs. 6a)
c. Commitment and constancy in prayer (vs. 6b)
d. Confession of sin (vs. 6c-7)
e. Repentance (vs. 8-9)
f. Intercession for God’s people (vs. 10)
g. God’s favor and provision in light of a new vision (vs. 11)
3. Vision is accomplished through God’s provision. (2:1-8)
After the Message:
Read Nehemiah 1:1-2:8. What is God calling you to do? What need has He presented that is your invitation to join him in solving that need? Will you seek him, trust him, and obey him so that He might provide in amazing ways and use you for His glory and the good of others?
