Spiritual Lessons from the Eagle’s Nest – Part 2

Deuteronomy 32:11-12
Watching an eagle soar in the heavens is an absolutely wonderful sight to behold.  Our series will focus on how these great birds learn to survive and master their world and how it compares to God’s work in our lives.
The eagle knows there is a time when the comfort of the nest must be traded for the higher purpose for which they were created.

The Stirring of the Eagle’s Nest

The Stirring of Jacob’s Nest - Deuteronomy 32:9-10

The Stirring of Our Nests - Psalms 77:1-3
Our natural tendency is to be satisfied with the average and mediocre.
“We are like a janitor’s broom...We only go where we are pushed.”

A.    The Stirring of Our Home Nest – Genesis 2:24

If you are going to move your children from dependence to independence—you must be a disturbing parent.
God has created us to want our independence from parents.

Parents, however, have the task of not allowing freedom absent of responsibility and direction.

B.    The Stirring of Our Vocational Nest - Job 30:27

Some never understand the power of the upward call. Their lives become marked with a lack of purpose.
The tragedy with being uncomfortable and not doing anything about it is that we start blaming others and taking our frustration out on those close to us.

C.    The Stirring of Our Spiritual Nest - Philippians 3:13-14

Every individual who has longed to accomplish the purpose of the Kingdom has had their nest stirred.

D.    The Stirring of Our Earthly Nest – Psalms 90:10

Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.
Isaiah 40:31
