Genesis 39:4-9
One of life’s most important
skills is that of making decisions. The
need to make good decisions begins when we are just children, and follows us
through every stage in life. Developing
a template for good decision making is essential to living a Christian
life. Today’s passage offers some
insight into learning to make decisions without regret.
Examples of GreatDecision Making inScripture
·
Joshua
24:15 – “…choose for yourselves today
whom you will serve…”
·
Ruth
1:16 – “Your people shall be my people,
and your God shall be my God.”
·

Examples of poor decisions…

Equation for bad
decisions:
(costs related to bad decisions) = Regret
Unpredictable situations
often lead to decisions that can derail us.
The Big Question: What
story do I want to tell?
·
Observation:
We are capable of condensing huge parts of our story down
to just a few sentences.
·
Corollary:Whatever decision we are
currently facing will one day be part of our story.
·
Revelation: We have an opportunity to
decide how that story unfolds.
Of all the possible
solutions before me,
·
Which
are most consistent with my story to thispoint?
·
Which
are most consistent with the story I want to tell in the future?
