Finding God in the Church Budget

Philippians 4:10-19

The church budget may seem like an unlikely place to search for God.  However, we need to be reminded that the church is His plan for reaching His people.  As we consider the plans He has for us for this year, may we rediscover the miraculous nature of His provision.

The Disclaimer - Philippians 4:10-13

Paul is caught in the tension between teaching about stewardship and the appearance of self-serving motives.

Giving is not about the gift, it is always about the blessings conferred to the giver.

  I.     We find God Through Allocations Philippians 4:14-16

The church perpetuates itself primarily through teaching.

Your gifts, shared with the church, provide for the many teaching points we support through the budget.


 

II.     We find God Through Worship Philippians 4:18

This is the description of an Old Testament burnt offering.

Giving is worship!

 

III.     We find God Through Provision Philippians 4:19

Paul’s summary statement reflects his confidence in the benevolent will of God to provide for the needs of His children.
