We Reap the
Same in Kind as we Sow
Galatians 6:7-10
God set up a system where everything reproduces after
its kind. It doesn’t really matter how
hard we try, we can never plant apple seeds and get collard greens. Neither can
we sow hatred and reap love. This second Law of the Harvest reminds us that
every seed sown produces
results, and every result tends to be of the kind that was sowed. It is a universal law.
I. It Began in
the Beginning – Genesis 1:11-12
Genesis 1:11-25 "after their kind." – “whose seed
is within itself”
The laws of creation
permeate the created. I will reap
“in kind” with what I sow and I cannot sow
one thing and reap another.
Key Words to Consider
sow - to implant, seek to propagate or
extend; to plant something to continue its kind
seed - programmed to enable the
continuing replication of that same organism
kind - species - indicates the limitation of
variation; organism reproduces after its kind, not some other kind
reap - to obtain as a result of effort
The Absoluteness of This Law -
"Be not deceived; God is not mocked.”
It’s All About Cause and Effect
- Matthew 7:16-18
Two Truths from the Second Law:
1. The life you have now is the result of seeds you have previously sown.
2. The seeds planted today are the harvests of tomorrow.
II. Sow with the
End in Mind - James
3:18
1. We must plant
what we desire to reap.
2. We must envision
the end result of our sowing and consider if it is worth planting
3. We must understand
that the true nature of the seed we have scattered will surely be revealed.
This is more than a
law of consequence; it is more than a law of reciprocation; it is
a law of nature. “in kind”
III. We Reap the
Same in Our Kids As We Sow
Often
our strengths or weaknesses are enlarged in the fields where we sow our
seed.

IV. Sowing to Body,
Soul or Spirit Galatians 6:8
That
which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of
the Spirit is spirit. John 3:6
