…for today in the city of David there has been born for
you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and
lying in a manger.” And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of
the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, And on
earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.”
Luke 2:11-14
When
a couple has a baby, they soon figure out that life will never be the same for
them again. Their lives will revolve
around this tiny baby who needs them to meet his/her every need. They cannot talk so they cannot tell them
what they want or need. They cannot walk
into the kitchen and get a drink when they are thirsty or something to eat when
they are hungry. They don’t even know
exactly what they need sometimes. They
are completely dependent on others to meet every need for them. Usually most of life comes to a halt and
meeting the needs of a screaming baby becomes a priority.
A
tiny baby, Jesus, was born long ago in Bethlehem who may have seemed just like
any other baby at the time. But Jesus
was very different in that He not only changed His parent’s lives; He changed
the whole world for all of eternity. He
brought with Him grace, mercy and salvation which equals freedom. When we invite Jesus Christ into our lives,
our lives will never be the same again.
We will be changed forever.
