Proverbs
31:8-9
Today we
affirm our belief that human life is of inestimable worth and significance in
all its dimensions, including the unborn, the aged, the mentally impaired, the
poor, the unattractive, the physically challenged and every other condition in
which humanness is expressed from conception to the grave.
We believe life is sacred.
We are no
longer shocked to hear the words "genocide" and “ethnic
cleansing" as terms for atrocities that continue across much of the
world.
Induced abortion
in the United States is on the DECLINE!
95-98% of
all abortions are for the convenience of the mother.
There are
some things in the Bible we cannot misunderstand.
The lack of
value for life today is the result of godlessness.
If God is
not the measure of what is true and right and beautiful, then I am and you are.
And since we—the god called “you,”
and the god called “me”—may not agree, the result will be: might
makes right.
Our society
has desecrated the sanctity of life by replacing it with a “quality of life” ethic.
it should be
no surprise that dependency is looked upon as the ultimate weakness.
The presence
or absence of individual characteristics, abilities or capacities cannot
determine humanness.
The
predominant worldview of America treats human beings as things rather
than as persons, as objects rather than individuals made
in the image of God.
Sadly, we
see ourselves as more different than alike and voice our differences with disrespect
and egotistical discrimination.
Demeaning, degrading,
humiliating, debasing remarks have no place in the life of a
believer in Jesus Christ.
We should examine our hearts
for attitudes toward ourselves and others that violate the spirit of the
Sanctity of Human Life ethic.
