Ephesians 4:11-13
Defining a great church requires setting the right
criteria. Today we look at how a church
can apply all of its resources through all of its members to serve Christ in
the world around us. To do this we need
to see every member as a minister.
A great church is one that boldly worships the risen
Christ and effectively performs the ministry of Christ.
Why are we going through this process today?
I. There is a Scriptural Mandate for the Pastor. Ephesians 4:11-13
The role of the minister has been directed more toward the performance
of ministry for the church than the development of the church for
ministry.
II. There is a Servant Mandate for the Disciple. Mark 10:42-45
In God’s chain of authority, the way up
is down.
A bond-slave to Christ
yields all rights and position to His call on their life.
III. There is a Spiritual Gift for every Believer.
I Corinthians 12:4-7; 11
Spiritual gifts are powerful tools of
God's design imparted through His Spirit into the lives of His people
for the accomplishment of His task.
Every ministry needs those with a variety
of gifts for effectiveness in carrying out their purpose.
Ministry Gifts are
discovered in encounter with NEED.
· Motivational Gift – The HEART gift
· Ministry Gift – The HANDS gift
· Manifestation Gift – the HOLY gift
IV. There is a Special Place for every Servant. Colossians
3:23-24
Every individual has a Circle of Influence
that becomes their ministry field.
Together we
can make a difference!
