Deuteronomy 32:9-14
Watching an eagle soar in the heavens is an absolutely
wonderful sight to behold. Our series
will focus on how these great birds learn to survive and master their world and
how it compares to God’s work in our lives.
This scripture pictures how God lovingly brings about change and
maturity in the lives of His people. He
longs for us to soar on the wings of faith!
I.
The Nesting Stage Job 39:27-28
Every infant needs a place of protection
and provision.
God has provided a place for us to be
developed into mature believers.
It is called the Church.
Salvation is always individual, but
it is never isolating; always personal, but never private.
The nest called home is where
I go to sort out the “stuff” in my life.
Home is where I can admit my greatest
weakness or failure and still be accepted.
II.
The Imprinting Stage Deuteronomy 32:11
The eagle demonstrates flying
for her young and they imitate her in response.
The mother eagle knows the objective
of the nest is preparation for their purpose…to soar!
The thing about learning through example
is that we are always teaching by the way we live.
·
Children
are receptors and reflectors.
·
I
can change my child by changing me!
Children and disciples
indiscriminately imitate what they see.
·
Imprinting is
what God does in giving us the example of Jesus. (What Would Jesus Do?)
·
Not
everything that ‘moves’ in the name of Christianity is the right example
to follow.
·
Flying in a
Christian’s life is faith to rise above circumstances.
·
Hunting is
searching for the bread from heaven to grow spiritually strong and
healthy.
Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they
will mount up with wings like
eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. Isaiah 40:31
