Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12
What does the Bible say about kindness?
Several
verses talk about God’s kindness and how we are to show kindness to others, but
Colossians 3:12 says that as God’s people we must have a heart
filled with kindness. Another version
says that we must practice kindness to others. This means that
being kind should be part of our daily life that honors God. So put your kindness into action!
Think of ways to add kindness to your day, whether it be with your family, friends, or neighbors.
Take time this week to read these Bible verses to learn more about kindness:

Why does Kindness Matter?
Ø Kindness is a trait that describes a person’s character. That means that it is a part of who you are; words, actions, behaviors, and does not depend on a situation. Think of kindness like a riding a bike, it may come naturally for you or the more you practice, the better and easier it becomes.
Ø Kindness fosters other character traits like compassion, generosity, caring, understanding, and patience. It is also a way to make lots of friends! Everyone likes to be around genuinely kind people.
Ø Kindness
can be an answer to prayer. God can use
your kindness to help others in need, or someone facing a challenging
time. God is looking for your obedience,
and willingness to help. One small
action can create a huge reaction.
