I have said these things to you, that in me
you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I
have overcome the world. John 16:33
A Reminder For You Today
To take heart means to have courage or be encouraged. Jesus spoke these words
so we would be emboldened and have the strengthened for all the things in this
world that we would face. He knew we would need the reminder that He has
already overcome the world.
He has overcome financial problems.
He has overcome family issues.
He has overcome divorce.
He has overcome job loss.
He has overcome physical illness.
He has overcome emotional illness.
He has overcome mental illness.
He has overcome darkness.
He has overcome addiction.
He has overcome fear.
He has overcome sin.
He has overcome giants.
He has overcome anxiety.
He has overcome insecurity.
He has overcome sorrow.
He has overcome death.
And so much more.
What is it that you need Him to overcome in your life? What
has He already overcome? We are all overcomers through Him, never in our own
power. Nothing we face worries God in the least, and He doesn’t want it to
worry us either. He wants us to trust His promise that He has overcome. We can
face anything with the certainty that He has already been there and knows all
of it already. Because we are His children, we have this promise that we can
hold onto.
Who shall separate us from the
love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or
nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being
killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him
who loved us. For I am sure that neither
death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come,
nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be
able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans
