The Light

The Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light.

A few days ago, I was awakened a little earlier than usual, a while before daybreak. Not wishing to wake Marsha I quietly got up, showered and got ready to start the day. I had picked out my shirt and pants the night before and hung my pants on the front of the rack.  The only problem was, I didn’t turn on the light in the closet to make sure the pants I had chosen were a color that matched theshirt I had chosen. I quietly dressed, got a cup of coffee and a breakfast drink and headed to the church. When I arrived, the day was just breaking, I unlocked the door and went to my office. WhenI turned on the light, I looked down and saw that my green pants didn’t match the blue shirt I was wearing. The light made all the difference. I returned home and changed into pants that matchedmy shirt.

Just as the light in my office shed truth on the fact that what I was wearing didn’t match, Jesus sheds truth in our life too.  Jesus is truly, the light out the world! His word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. His words are life and truth. His works reveal the will of our Heavenly Father. We’d all do well to walk in His Light.
