Psalms 139:13-16
How the church sees people is key to how they will
form ministry.
The ministry and mission of the local church is to embody the
heart and hands of Christ.
We believe life is sacred.
Human dignity is an innate value, bestowed on
us by God by being made in His image. It is not based on the ability to care
for ourselves or competence to complete a task.
We live in a culture that has largely adopted a "quality
of life" ethic reducing our responsibility toward those
deemed unworthy.
The majority of the persons
Jesus healed were those with special needs.
The Church and
Special Needs
·
Special need individuals confront us with
tough theological questions.
God is sovereign over all or He is not in
control of anything.
·
Special need individuals confront us with
tough ethical questions.
Each encounter with a disabled or mentally
challenged child becomes a crisis of principles because they remind us
that the kingdom of God looks at people from a very different perspective.
