Today is Palm Sunday, the day we celebrate the triumphal
entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, one week before His resurrection. Jesus, the
King of Kings, rode into Jerusalem on a donkey that someone was willing to hand
over to Him. What do you have that you
can offer your King?
I.
The Donkey was Loosed
for the Lord’s Use
Matt. 21:1-2
Matt. 21:1-2
· Likewise, your usefulness
and ability to be used in the Kingdom of God is not based upon what you
can do, it is based solely upon the person of Jesus Christ.
· I believe one of
the reasons Jesus placed himself in that position is so that we might partner
with him in what he wants to do on the earth. Whether it's preaching the Word
or feeding the multitude, the Lord has chosen to say, "I need
you."
· Before God can
use something it must be loosed - before the donkey could be used by the Lord
it first had to be loosed by the owner.
II.
Your Best Ability is Availability
Luke 5:1-7
· In order to experience
the blessing of the Lord you must take what you have and make it available for
His use.
· You will be
amazed at what God can do with your broken net, with your inadequacies
and with your weaknesses if you make them available for Him to use.
· The Lord wants
us to bring what we have to the table because that which is insufficient in the
hands of the insignificant becomes sufficient and significant
when it is placed in the hands of Jesus.
III.
What's in Your Hand? Exodus 4:1-4
· God will use whatever
is in your hand for His glory if you will loosen it for His use.
· God didn't use
the scepter that was in Moses' royal hand when he lived in Egypt, but He
did use the simple shepherd's staff.
· God gave you
gifts when you were born simply waiting to be used when you were born
again.
