What is the
Bible?
1. The Bible is the record of the self-disclosure of the
mind and person of God, His attributes, His nature and His purpose.
2. The Bible reveals the state of man, his nature of sin
and subsequent disobedience leading to separation from God and His life-giving
Spirit. James 1:23-25
3. The Bible records the work of God to restore man to eternal life, fellowship
and blessing through His choosing of a people unto Himself and the ultimate
gift of His Son as our Savior.
4. The Bible is the milk (I
Peter 2:2) and meat (Hebrews 5:14)
that help us grow spiritually.
5. The Bible is a lamp to guide us down the path of life.

6. The Bible is a discerning knife that lays bare and
analyzes our deepest being. Hebrews 4:12
7. The Bible is a sword with which we defend ourselves
against the enemy. Ephesians

Why do we need the Bible?
1. We need the Bible to know
God and His requirement for our salvation.

discover meaning in life.
3. We need the Bible to have direction
in life.
4. We need the Bible to provide
us power in life over our self and sin.
5. We need the Bible to provide
us wisdom in the living of life.
6. We need the Bible to know hope
in and after life.
Why is the Bible different from all other books?
