Thanksgiving Thoughts
The Person of Thanksgiving
God is timeless. The
Bible tells us He has always been, but best of all that His love and mercy are
everlasting! He will never run out and
the world with all its advancing technology can never surpass it.
God is Good ... For the Lord is
good
God is good all the time!
All the time God is good! God
cannot help but be good! His loving acts
toward mankind are always wrapped in His goodness and love. God is good!
For
the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing
does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
Psalm 84:11
God is Mercy ... His mercy is
everlasting
Mercy always triumphs over judgment. (James 2:13) Christ is God's mercy to man! Think about
that a moment. Let it sink in our hearts
and lives and it will gear our hearts to giving thanks to God for His
everlasting mercy that is directed to us today and will be in the tomorrow and
into eternity!
But
God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with
Christ (by grace you have been saved),
Ephesians 2:4-5
God is Truth ... His truth
endures to all generations
God doesn't lie. What
He tells us today will be true tomorrow and into all generations. It was true for the psalmist who penned these
words and it is true to you and I who read these words. Now give Him thanks!
But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and
gracious, Slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and truth. Psalm 86:15
Thank the
Lord today for His goodness, mercy and truth.
Thank Him for extending these attributes across generations,
denominations, and nationalities. These
gifts are free to everyone who chooses to accept them. There are no
pre-requisites or strings attached just pure unconditional mercy and love!
