Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the
Lord is.
Ephesians 5:17 NKJV
Ephesians 5:17 NKJV
The Bible would never instruct believers to know the will of the Lord if the will of the Lord could not be known. However, church culture is teeming with conversation that focuses on “seeking God’s will” as though God’s will is eluding them. The truth of the matter is, God is more eager to share his will with us than we are to receive it from him.
In the days of Amos the prophet the people of God had become dull
to recognizing and subsequently obeying God’s desires. The problem wasn't that
God had not revealed his will, but that the people couldn't see it. Amos
declared that God does nothing in the affairs of man without first revealing it
to one of his servants (Amos 3:7).
Tragically, the same thing happens to people today. When believers
are not in God’s word or not in fellowship with God’s people, the will of the
Lord becomes hazy, like looking through a dirty window. Jesus said that if your
eyes are pure you will see and recognize what God is doing (Matthew 6:22). If
believers are not seeing where God is working the problem is not a lack of
revelation from God, but a dirty spiritual window.
Clean your window...get into God's word and into fellowship with
God’s people. It will clear things up and help you see all of the activity that
God is involved in around you and in you. When you start to notice what God is
doing around you that is your invitation to join in and not only know God’s
will, but be actively involved in it.
Scripture to Claim:
Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. (Amos 3:7 NKJV)
