ESCAPING STUPID

The simple believe anything, but the prudent give thought to their steps. Proverbs 14:15

ACT 1 – THE SET-UP

Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. Proverbs 29:25

 ACT 2 – THE PLAN

·      Mockers are proud and haughty; they act with boundless arrogance. Proverbs 21:24 (NLT)

·      The mouths of fools are their undoing, and their lips are a snare to their very lives. Proverbs 18:7

 ACT 3 – THE EXECUTION 

·      The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception. Proverbs 14:8

·      The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penaltyProverbs 22:3

ACT 4 - THE UNEXPECTED

 Better to meet a bear robbed of her cubs than a fool bent on folly. Proverbs 17:12

ACT 5 – THE OUTCOME 

·      If you set a trap for others, you will get caught in it yourself. If you roll a boulder down on others, it will crush you instead. Proverbs 26:27 (NLT)

·      Penalties are prepared for mockers, and beatings for the backs of fools. Proverbs 19:29

PART 2

 ACT 6 – THE REPLAY

·      A fool finds pleasure in wicked schemes, but a person of understanding delights in wisdom. Proverbs 10:23 

·      As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly. Proverbs 26:11

ACT 7- THE ESCAPE

·      Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. Proverbs 13:20

1.    Choose wisely with whom you run 

·      The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts have good understandingPsalm 111:10 

2.    Recognize God’s involvement in all of life. 

·      Those who disregard discipline despise themselves, but the one who heeds correction gains understanding. Proverbs 15:32

3.    Embrace the value of correction.

EPILOGUE 

You never fully escape from stupid. It will continue to call to you. Keep your eyes open.
