Co-Heirs with a King

Thursday, December 12, 2019 Some Material Taken From A King Comes From Royalty
So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.  Galatians 4:7

When we come to Jesus and accept Him as our Lord and Savior, we are immediately adopted into His family as one of His own. No matter how bad our past may look, God still takes us in and makes us His sons and daughters.  He loves us with an unprejudiced and unconditional love and being accepted into His family makes us co-heirs with Jesus.  A co-heir is a person who shares the right to an inheritance; however, even though we are heirs of God, we legally and strictly have no inheritance apart from Jesus, the co-heir, who purchased us and adopted us to be in that position. Being a co-heir with Christ means that we have the same inheritance that Jesus does.  All the good things that God has for His son Jesus, He gives to us also.

As co-heirs with Christ we have been given:
His Glory
The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one.  John 17:22

His RichesFor you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.  2 Corinthians 8:9

And all things - But in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.  Hebrews 1:2

Our inheritance from Him is imperishable. This inheritance will never expire or decay because our inheritance from Him is in Heaven. Earthly things will all pass away but our heavenly inheritance in Him will never fade.  Our inheritance from Him is unspoiled.  It is perfect and free from anything that could spoil it. Our inheritance from Him is Unfading.  It never dulls or fades.  Our inheritance from Him is reserved – He is holding our spot in Heaven.

We have been given this amazing and wonderful gift of being adopted by the King of Kings, even when we are so undeserving.  While we were sinners Christ died for us – before we even chose Him, He gave up His life so we could have everlasting life. We were slaves to our sin but when we became His, we became an heir to His kingdom.  We are unworthy but He has promised us an eternal inheritance, based on the worthiness of His Son, Jesus.  He has given us two perfect gifts – freedom from our life as slaves to sin, and adoption with an eternal, Holy inheritance into His family.
